About Acorn AV Ltd

At Acorn AV Ltd, we deliver high-quality audio-visual services for corporate events — from conferences to live streaming and everything in between. Based in Battersea, we’re a tight-knit, passionate team working on events across London, the UK, and occasionally abroad.

About the Role

Joining the team at Acorn AV, no two days will be the same. This is an exciting and varied role that involves a mix of hands-on AV technical work, project management, and customer service. You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop your technical skills in areas such as lighting, sound, cameras, staging, and set design, while ensuring our events run smoothly from start to finish.

In addition to gaining valuable experience on-site and in the warehouse, you’ll have the chance to enhance your expertise through internal and external professional development courses. Whether it’s learning new AV technologies or improving your project management skills, we believe in investing in our team’s growth.

You’ll be working alongside an experienced small team of professionals, and will be responsible for managing and coordinating the production of events from initial site visits with the client to preparing and testing the equipment in the warehouse, loading and driving vans to deliver the on-site event. The role requires a passion for customer service, a strong desire to learn the technical aspects of event production, and a flexible, proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of corporate events, including conferences, hybrid events, and live streaming projects.
  • Preparing and testing the equipment in the warehouse pre-event.
  • Loading and unloading vans both at the warehouse and on-site.
  • Provide high-quality customer service.
  • Ensuring everything runs smoothly through pre-event planning and communications with the client, venue and other stakeholders.
  • Learn and develop expertise in AV technologies, including lighting, sound, cameras, staging, and set production.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
  • Be prepared for a moderate amount of unsociable working hours (including weekends and evenings).
  • Occasionally travel abroad for international events.

You will be supported in these responsibilities by the rest of the team, freelancers and local crew where needed.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone one who has experience within the events industry or transferable skills from a similar role. A core skill and interest in a technical speciality would be beneficial (cameras, lighting, sound etc.) as we can offer training in other areas as needed. A background in retail or other customer facing roles is a bonus.

  • Strong customer service and project management skills.
  • Driving Licence (preferably but not necessarily with experience of driving 3.5T vans)
  • A passion for learning the technical aspects of event production (AV systems, lighting, sound, cameras, etc.).
  • An already developed core technical skill (lighting, sound, filming).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a small teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, as some weeks may involve longer working days, including evenings and weekends.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential. We’re open to candidates from a variety of industries who are eager to transition into the events sector.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic and supportive team environment where everyone has a crucial role to play.
  • The chance to develop your skills in the fast-paced and exciting world of event production, with access to external training courses to advance your technical and project management expertise.
  • Occasional international travel for events, broadening your experience in a global context.
  • A great role for those who enjoy staying active at work — this position includes a balance between physical and computer-based tasks.
  • Competitive salary, with opportunities for career progression as the company grows.
  • A varied work schedule that balances time at our warehouse, on-site at events, and the flexibility to work from home for some administrative tasks.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time, mid-level role with a mix of on-site and warehouse work (45% warehouse, 45% on-site, and 10% work from home).
  • The role requires working outside of standard office hours, with occasional overtime hours compensated with time off in lieu.

If you’re a motivated and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, we’d love to hear from you!
